Our Story: We Hand You The Keys To Success

Dan Foster opened his first title office in 1997 after practicing law with a local firm for fourteen years. With the help of his wife Paige, they focused on creating strong personal relationships by providing great service to customers and a team environment for employees, which resulted in the business growing from one to six fee offices, in three counties. As national companies were making decisions based upon stock value considerations and market conditions in other areas, Dan and Paige formed Providence Title as an independent agent in May 2008. The creation of Providence Title, stemming from Dan’s existing DFW fee offices, allowed Dan more control of the business decisions based on local knowledge of the local markets - not how stock prices were being affected by national market conditions.

In creating the new company, Dan recognized a need for additional local leadership and title experience outside a fee office. Lynda Tiedtke, formerly president of the local LandAmerica division with whom Dan had worked as a fee attorney, agreed to join the new venture. Lynda’s experience in the financial and regulatory aspects of the business, along with her industry contacts, helped get the new agency off the ground. Soon after, Providence had the opportunity and added attorney Steve Ramsey, who brought a wealth of title examination experience and another network of industry contacts to help grow the new venture. The company quickly expanded with several more locations, including Dan’s former San Antonio fee office, led by Denise Smith, in early 2009. Although there were a number of changes moving from a fee office to an agency, maintaining a good atmosphere for all employees continued to be a focus. Without question, Providence is a team and would not have enjoyed such success without its great team members.

Today, Providence Title conducts residential and commercial closings throughout Texas in both direct and fee attorney offices, and is committed to being a relationship driven company, with local leadership making decisions based upon knowledge of local markets and focusing on the success of its customers and team members. The Texas based ownership group has a combined experience of over sixty-five years in the Texas title insurance industry and has relationships with six large national underwriters.
